My Marriage preparations

 When it comes to planning a wedding, there are countless decisions to be made, from the venue to the menu to the decor. But for me, one of the most important things was to make sure that my wedding reflected my cultural heritage and traditions. I knew that I wanted my wedding to be steeped in the customs and rituals of my faith. And so, I decided to plan my wedding in the beautiful city of Chitradurga.

One of the most significant aspects of my wedding is the mandap, which is a canopy that serves as the focal point of the ceremony. I wanted my mandap to be grand and elegant, and I was thrilled when I found the perfect one at a local wedding venue. The mandap was beautifully decorated with flowers and colourful fabrics, and it was the perfect backdrop for the ceremony.

Another important aspect of my wedding is the use of religious symbols and decorations. I incorporated traditional elements like marigold garlands and Kalash, which are pot-like vessels that symbolize fertility and prosperity. I also had a beautiful statue of Lord Ganesha, the Hindu god of beginnings, who is said to remove obstacles and bring good luck to the couple.

The rituals in the wedding ceremony were all performed by the priest and it was a traditional and authentic experience. The rituals included the Jaimala ceremony, where the bride and groom exchange flower garlands, and the kumkum and Mangalsutra ceremony, where the groom applies kumkum (vermilion powder) on the bride’s forehead and ties the mangal sutra (sacred necklace) around her neck,

The food served during the wedding was South Indian cuisine, which was delicious and enjoyed by all. Traditional wedding sweets Holige / Obbattu, Mysorepak, and Laddu, were a hit among the guests

Overall, my wedding in Chitradurga was a beautiful and memorable experience. I was so grateful to be able to celebrate my cultural heritage and traditions in such a meaningful way. I am so glad that we chose Chitradurga as our wedding destination, it was the perfect blend of tradition and modernity.
